vCard, Virtual Business Cards is a file that acts as an electronic business card, which can be used to share the information with other recipients. vCard can be easily attached to your signature on your Outlook mail, that allow others (with whom you communicate) to see your name, business, position and even the contact information. Create vCards:

The below explained steps help you to create a vCard:

Distribute or Send vCard

  • First open a new message and address it to the recipient as done while sending a mail
  • Go to the Insert menu and click File option
  • Now, from the list just select a vCard (. vcf) file by clicking on it, and then click OK

Now, your vCard will be sent to the recipient.

Open and save a vCard you receive

  • Once you receive a vCard, Open the message you received containing vCard
  • Now, double-click the attachment to open it
  • Then in the open contact, just click Save and Close option

With this the information in the vCard is saved to your Contacts folder.

Include vCard with your automatic signature

If you wish to include your vCard with automatic signature then follow these steps:

  • On the File menu just click Options
  • In the Mail section click on Signatures option and hit the New in order to add a new signature
  • Then, enter a name for your signature, and then click Next
  • Within the Text Windows just type the desired signature information
  • In case you are using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or earlier versions of Outlook, click New vCard from Contact

For Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010, just click Business Card, select the contact that you want to add, and then click OK for three times

  • Now, select Contacts or another address list in the Show Names from the box
  • Select the entry for which you want to create a vCard and click on it
  • Then hit OK and Finish
  • Finally again click on OK to complete the signature entry

NOTE: In case your vCard contains UserDefined fields, Notes, or other Outlook-specific fields, then all these values will be stripped from the vCard that is included with the signature. The Signature Picker specifically includes only those fields that are vital to define a vCard.
